Localizada no centro de Portugal, recebendo a influência da Serra da Estrela, a montanha mais elevada de Portugal Continental, a região demarcada do Dão foi instituída em 1908. Foi a primeira região demarcada, de vinhos não licorosos, em Portugal.

Located in the center of Portugal, receiving the influence of Serra da Estrela, the highest mountain in Portugal mainland,the Dão demarcated region was instituted in 1908. It was the first demarcated region of non-liqueur wines in Portugal.

Para além da Serra da Estrela, o clima é em larga medida condicionado pelas Serras do Caramulo, Lousã, Buçaco, Nave e Açor, que rodeia a região demarcada do Dão, protegendo as vinhas dos ventos marítimos criando amplitudes térmicas diárias bastante elevadas, podendo atingir os 30ºC por altura das vindimas.

In addition to Serra da Estrela, the climate is largely conditioned by the Caramulo, Lousã, Buçaco, Nave and Açor Mountains, which surrounds the demarcated Dão region, protecting the vineyards of the sea winds, creating very high daily termal amplitudes, that can be of 30ºC in harvest.

Os solos são dominados por granito, um dos principais contributos para a mineralidade dos seus vinhos.

The soils are dominated by granite, one of the main contributions of the minerality of it's wines.

These are excellent conditions for the maturation of the grapes that are the basis of their authentic wines, with nerve and muscle, but which have all the sophistication of new trends that privelege elegance, balance and the appetence for the table.
